I'm Robyn Vines Smith. I sew and edit and do all kinds
of stuff (except clean my house on a regular basis) in Albuquerque,
N.M.
By night, I'm Super-Editor, rescuing my newspaper from
such embarrassments as "funeral arraignments" and writing
clever headlines like "Panel To Study Changes."
By day, I'm Burst of Happiness, making joyful little bags
to carry your stuff in. I'm here to make you look cute and
feel happy, simultaneously!
I love fun fabrics, and I make only a few items from each
fabric. I love the excitement of making something different
and new, so I don't mass produce my products. I strive for
bags that are useful on an everyday basis, but that still
stand out in the crowd.
I also enjoy other fiber arts. I like to knit, and lately
have begun hand-dyeing and spinning yarns. I post some of
these for sale at Burstyriffic, my etsy.com yarn shop. The
link is above.
My mother is joining me on an expansion of Burst of Happiness
that focuses on fancy, schmancy aprons. As in really frilly.
The label is called Babycakes Aprons and is featured right
now on a small basis on my regular Web site.
What is a burst of happiness? It's just a sudden moment
of giddiness. I am prone to them, along with my cat Roady.
My other cat and my husband are not.
Yes, it takes a certain type of person to have product
lines called Burst of Happiness and Burstyriffic. I truly
don't think I'm as annoying as you might be imagining. Some
people can skip around exclaiming, "Wow! That's Burstyriffic!"
and seem totally cool and normal. I like to believe I'm
one of them.
