I started out in fine arts and developed into an abstract artist. Furniture art was almost accidental when I found myself, as a student, with tons of mismatched furniture. A local gallery accepted several pieces ... then I moved to Albuquerque. Like many, my intention was to live in Santa Fe and work as an artist. Instead, I got married and spent most of my time raising a family. During that time, I created and sold furniture art, highly detailed children's costumes, clothing, and Dream Pillows. I have also consulted on design projects, as an artist.

Utilizing the internet allowed me to attract people from all over the world, from Germany to Japan. That time in my life was marked by new additions to my family, which really had to take priority over anything I hope to achieve with my art personally and professionally. I guess it served as an incubation period for me. While I made a number of alternative decisions, like homeschooling my children, being a stay-at-home mom, increasing my responsibilities overall ....I learned so many new things. Instead of just refinishing or decorating furniture, I learned to design and build my own pieces. Instead of merely hand-sewing, I learned to sew complicated clothing, costumes, and interior design pieces. Necessity led to a lot of invention and innovation for me.

Recently, well, I've learned considerably more. :D In some ways, I use my own house as a giant canvas. I do sculpture, metalwork, wood carving, leather tooling, beadwork, weaving, tatting, macramé, wood burning, sewing, hand-sewing, painting, photography, cooking, paper mâché, textile art, furniture design, building, interior faux finishes, wall murals, 3d modeling, digital art and writing computer code. I also make my own organic cosmetics, cleaning supplies and pet items. I have done eclectic things like running a chemical laboratory, working on environmental issues and even as a psychic. Oddly enough, they're all a part of me. When I make something like a Dream Pillow I can use what I know about herbology, aromatherapy, gemstones, color therapy, and energy medicine to create something uniquely suited for a particular healing purpose. I have a couple lines of Dream Pillows I'm working on for a spa and several stores across the country. The person I am right now is very much where and who I've been. I think of my capabilities as yet to be determined, because I love to learn and I'm always inspired by everything I come across. One of my favorite things: a piece where I get to bring in a lot of different skills, maybe even learn new ones -- that motivates me.
